Breast Lift & Breast Reduction Incisions
Breast lift and breast reduction are similar procedures, and depending on the extent of the procedure, may be done using a variety of incisions.Request a Consultation
Which Is Right for You?
- Crescent incision – Utilized when there is a minimal amount of breast lifting to be performed. It involves removing a crescent of skin above the areola in order to move it up slightly.
- Doughnut incision – Involves an incision around the areola in a concentric fashion. The amount of lifting that can be achieved is usually greater than the crescent incision.
- Vertical incision – Achieves a greater amount of breast lifting, but involves an incision that not only surrounds the areola, but also extends vertically from the areola to nearly the lower crease of the breast.
- Inverted T incision – Usually achieves the greatest amount of breast lifting and requires the most extensive incisions: around the areola, vertically from the areola to the crease of the breast and following the lower crease of the breast.
