Which Incision Type Is Right for You?

Crescent incision

Utilized when there is a minimal amount of breast lifting to be performed. It involves removing a crescent of skin above the areola in order to move it up slightly.

Doughnut incision

Involves an incision around the areola in a concentric fashion. The amount of lifting that can be achieved is usually greater than the crescent incision.

Vertical incision

Achieves a greater amount of breast lifting, but involves an incision that not only surrounds the areola, but also extends vertically from the areola to nearly the lower crease of the breast.

Inverted T incision

Usually achieves the greatest amount of breast lifting and requires the most extensive incisions: around the areola, vertically from the areola to the crease of the breast and following the lower crease of the breast.
